Fender Flea Jazz Bass with wrong neck plate

So, my Fender Flea Jazz Bass arrived today and it's a real beauty.

On checking over the guitar everything looks fine but then I notice that the neck plate isn't the Flea logo neck plate; it's the 60th Anniversary Jazz Bass neck plate.

As nice as it is; it's not the correct plate for the guitar. Maybe I'm being picky but it's a brand new guitar so it should be correct.

I've reached out to Fender about this, hopefully I won't have to return the whole guitar.

GEAR:
  • Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass
  • Orange Micro Dark
  • Blank slot

eh, you might want to take the neck off to shim it when you do your setup anyway, see if they'll send you another plate...

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

If you love everything else about it, and there are no finish flaws or signs of damage, I'm with Jim. Give the seller a few days to send you the correct plate before risking getting a bass with the right plate, but some ailment the first bass didn't have.

GEAR:
  • Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer
  • Roland SH-101
  • Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer

Heard back from Fender and they are sending me the correct neck plate.

Rather happy about that, I’ll be sure to swap it out when it’s being setup properly.

Still have no idea how it got through QC. Pretty slack IMHO.

GEAR:
