identifying yuuho kitazawa's telecaster

she uses this deluxe telecaster in a few videos but i want to know what model of deluxe telecaster it is. or if its just a normal 70's deluxe with a different neck put on it, because most 70's deluxe telecasters i see have a light neck, where yuho's has what looks like a rosewood neck.

here is a screenshot and the videos that this guitar is in. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/773386370478637088/773659008543752202/yuho_tele_front.jpg https://youtu.be/bk5PlwUZ_7k https://youtu.be/ayjQA9_5azY https://youtu.be/iEEWXzBLmB8

Interesting. I'm no expert, but only factory-official combo of that fretboard, headstock, body, and color that I'm aware of is the now-discontinued Classic Series 72 Deluxe

GEAR:
  • Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer
  • Roland SH-101
  • Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer

that looks like the right one! thank you!

No sweat.

It could still ultimately be a neck swap of a handful of different 70s Tele Customs, as you theorized, or a neck-body pairing that was factory-born, but just not very well publicized in the usual corners of the internet... I'm sure others will have some thoughts.

i was just watching another one of their music videos, one that i forgot to link, and I could clearly see the features of the guitar. the neck pickup and the bridge match perfectly to the 72 tele in the link, and so does the neck. this ID has been solved!

its probably a fender japan version versus an AVRI or mexican classic series... for whatever that's worth. The difference between off the shelf mexican and japanese fenders has really narrowed from when I was a kid and the japan models were head and shoulders above a lot of mexicans.

exactly what i was thinking too

I looked through all the MIJ tele customs I could find before my original post, and nothing was an exact match... but nonetheless I agree, I'd be shocked if it wasn't ultimately an MIJ model that just didn't have a high volume run with that color + fretboard config.

they sued to make one that was an exact match, I knew someone with an early serial MIJ reissue, maybe an A serial? somethinglike that.... exactly that tele custom. 90s or maybe late 80s

i do have a screenshot from one of the music videos where the camera is behind her and the serial number is visible, but too blurry to read. perhaps if we can somehow enhance the photo we can find out if it is a MIJ or not

Well at least with this pic, I think we can rule out this being an original 1970's Telecaster. The tint and gloss of the neck down't look like that of a 40+ year old instrument. To state the obvious, many classic/classic style Fenders are near impossible to ID from concert photos alone, given all the reissues and marginally-distinct variants out there... thus the general "Fender Telecaster" and "Fender Stratocaster" entries here on EB with hundreds of artists logged each... you're scratching harder at this than a lot of users here bother to do, and for that you have my respect... however little that may be worth :D. Cheers!

looks like an MIM, classic series based on that serial location.... CIJ tend to be at the neck joint. MIJs are there or are on the neck plate or in the neck poicket on the bridge etc depending on the series and year
