Do you know anything similar to these two, I've run out of guitar comedy, I've finished the inbetweeners, and all the H3H3 videos. I need more comedy stuff to binge.

Beautiful man lol. It wasn't funny to me until about 00:55 into it. "Check out this clean tone"

No, I dont know of others. A friend of mine and I always wanted to do a whole series in the same fashion for Dave Mustaine though. I used to be able to do a spot on impression of him. Drooling mouth and all.

I really wanna watch these but my son is having none of it!

Why have you not taught him the powers of dream theatre? I need to buy their latest album, it sounds like it's amazing.

because I don't care for dream theater. Never have. They were the band that caused me to give up on prog rock and metal as a kid. All my metal friends were getting into them nad I was like "enough is enough already, this music is less appealing than Rush! how can a group of amazingly proficient musicians write music that makes me feel literally NOTHING?"

its like listening to satriani or vai. Great guys, I am impressed. Cool. Next?

to each his own though... I don't get it though.

There's not a great deal of emotion, but Jordan Rudess is the best pianist in any form of pop, or rock, John Petrucci is a technically amazing guitarist, John Myung is a damn good bassist, Portnoy is a brilliant drummer, that singers a total idiot, he can't sing for sh*t. They have some absoloute masterpeices.

I don't Satriani, or Vai to be honest.

I guess Portnoy is a proficient drummer. A lot of your other claims are pretty bold. They are all very proficient, but there is more to 'good' to me then extreme proficiency. I would say they make masterpieces of intermittent clutter. I'm not telling you not to like it, but I just can't get through more than 1 song of dream theater. I also don't like watching 4 grown men masturbate in public. Its gross and its not art to me no matter how fast they can get off. Maybe I would be more into it if I played more AD&D as a teenager. I had a different aesthetic as a young, aspiring rocker. When Friday night involved a dungeon master, role play and a basement it was a usually at a supposedly adults only club during a weekend where I wasn't playing a gig. It was not my mom's basement, a bong and some 8 sided dice.

That said all of the members seem like witty, intelligent people who I would gladly hang out with as long as I didn't have to listen to their discography while doing it.... or play dungeons and dragons with them while listening to rush albums and debating the merits of the cymbal intro to XYU

I wish the whole guitar hero thing would die already. It encourages a lot of BS attitudes including my own which can be quite reactionary because I am so sick of this shredder nonsense that I run my mouth excessively at young guys.

"4 grown men masturbate in public"

Did Dream Theater do that, or am I missing something? Have you watched the clips yet?

no, I was calling their playing "wanking" in the parlance of your country....

I can't watch the humorous videos yet, Lucian is on my lap watching Baby Einstein.

I pity you, oh so much. How can you have a son that can recognise an AC30, yet still watches that hell.

he's 2... he's only been 2 for a couple weeks too... little Einstein is a bit annoying for adults, but its got a lot of decent educational material presented at toddler speed. If he met a little Einstein kid face to face Lu still might kick the kid's ass. Don't worry. My son's a good natured bad-ass.

That said, he can count to 20 already, knows the whole alphabet, has more than justthe basic 8 colors down pat... and annoying educational programs reinforce everything I do with him one on one even when he's tuckered and just wants to veg out. I assume you were mainly joking, but if not, when you're a dad you will get it and you will appreciate everything your folks put up with to make sure you were ready for school.

Here Jim, this is my favorite song by Dream Theater. It was the first song I heard from them that made me feel anything. They DO have a lot of songs that just do nothing for me... but then they have stuff like this. Wish I could play it. Even the main riff gives me trouble for some reason. It's not super fast, but the order of the notes make my fingers all jumbled.

I must admit I enjoy 'dyslexic' riffing like that.

I guess not straight stuff. Weird signatures, and rhythms that don't 100 percent make sense.
