Multi toneprint pedal build?

Legality aside, how easy would it be to build a pedal that could download any toneprint out there. Is it possible to hack flashback style pedals so that they could accept any toneprint.

I'm uncertain which pedals have downloadable content right now, but you can make near exact tone-prints of any rig with the Kemper Heads. It even figures out the pedals and racks played through and simulates them in your tone.

Easy... but expensive.

That is so cool!

...Why must all the cool things be so pricey?!

GEAR:
  • EarthQuaker Devices Westwood
  • Fender '57 Custom Champ
  • Fender American Original '50s Telecaster

... because all the big bands in the world right now are buying them all up. I heard on a Premier Guitar video that Metallica has like 30 of them. We need to go a couple of years with them having low sales to see the price drop. I think it's imported as well.

I heard on a Premier Guitar video that Metallica has like 30 of them.

Since when does a band like Metallica need an amp system that simulates amplifiers they already have?

Hold up, why the hell do they need 30?

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT!?

I just realised that maybe they're trying to capture their own sound, but that doesn't excuse the fact that they have 30 of those things for two guitarists and a bassist that have amplifiers that I would trust my life with.

Might have been to ensure they had enough for replacements. I think having backups as well as having them for different continents is a good idea. The Kemper representative told Alex Skolnick of Testament that Metallica has, or at least ordered 80 of them and muse had 20 of them. I fudged the numbers. A band like Metallica i snot only making sure they have enough, but I would bet they would gift those out to people as well. Family, friends, other bands, etc.

Here's the source. https://youtu.be/0f0XGzbXtiA?t=5m

the kemper heads sound pretty realistic in the mix, not unlike the axe FX 2 only you can totally personalize the kemper.... a lot of R&D went into that shit, they need to recoup before all of their proprietary ideas get snapped up by Line6 and Digitech. The price will remain high until Fractal outdoes them somehow OR until the cheaper brands can match the sound quality.

I freaking LOVE the fact that there is a remote control option (for an additional $1,000 ... because remote controls are expensive hardware ...) you know in case you are too friggin lazy to turn the dials. Or in the case of Metallica, have your guitar tech turn dials on your behalf.

What a joke.

Oh yeah I watched that source video, too. Good production quality but that guy is a funny cat man. He's spent all that money on two of these fancy heads, and he is using the ... wait for it ... Behringer preset? Really? hmm. OK sure man. But wait, it gets better ... he is using the Ibanez wah preset. WTF why would you pay so much money for these heads and then use low-budget preset tones.

I also don't understand why he's got both of them powered on. The whole point of having a backup is in case your main one fails or burns out or gets damaged. If your backup is powered on the same number of hours, right next to the main head, then if anything happens to the main head (like a power surge or something falling on it) chances are high your backup will be screwed as well. Better off putting your backup in a safe storage location in your rack or backstage, powered OFF, so the circuit / software lifespan isn't being wasted.
