Pedalboard

I used to drill holes in a piece of plywood, take the bottoms off my pedals, and put the screws thru the holes into the pedals to secure them to the board so I could stomp savagely without them moving....

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I used to gaff pedals to the board. People used to get gear stolen at shows near me too regularly. I now use the links from bicycle chain, screw one side to the screws of the pedals, the other side I screw to the board. Ain't nobody stealing my gear!

I also rout out slots for exactly where patch leads and power need to come out and loop everything under the board cable tied neat and pedals positioned before I screw them down. (see gear porn pics 1 and 3 on my equipboard)

note: I got new gear so need to redesign my board. Want to keep the design but a MKII is coming soon.

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

Yeah, I prefer velcro too

your old board and mobile studio setup was impressive as hell

I have several size Pedaltrains for the simple reasons that they are light, you can configure the wiring and pedals any way you want and the power supplies can be mounted underneath out of sight. They are also lightweight which is a real plus with the bigger Classic and Pro.

I don't think markanderic is with us anymore. He's been MIA for, according to this thread, nearly a month.

However, I definitely agree with you. Those Holey boards look cool, but I'd have an anxiety attack seeing my pedals zip-tied like that.

Probably should get a smaller board. I have an old Pedaltrain 1, and the case is falling apart. I'm probably going to get a Metro 16 and fit everything there.

EDIT: Apparently the @ symbol will introduce some random Twitter account. Lesson learnt.

Hi, I am still here :) Thanks for the help, I got the pedaltrain which is great, however I got the hard case and it's HUGE!!! We struggled to find a place to put it! The board is great, I love having my power supply under my board, and I like the wires going under the board- looks much tidier.

Hi, I am still here :)

Mark!! Internet hug

Glad you're back again! And yeah, I frgot to mention how ridiculously big and heavy the case alone is. I just remembered, if you have a big enough case, you could probably pull this DIY off really well. It's a guide on installing wheels on the case so you can move it around easily.

Thanks, however my case actually came with wheels (thank god)

Glad to see you are still about. How's playing going?

Playing is going good, I've played a few small shows. I haven't really got any new stuff except for my DD-7 which I why I got a new pedalboard. I've stuck with my little Hiwatt for an amp tho :)
