Positive Grid Spark Amp, yay or nay?
Been considering getting Spark practice amp. Anyone have tried it before? If you don’t have an iPad, would it be a pain in the ass to control?
I just remembered my old bandmate is actually an engineer in Positive Grid! They’re based in Taipei, where I live. I probably can ask him about lending it to you guys. What do you think?
For working at home it's a wonderful amp. Not too big, sounds pretty good for the size, the effects are correct and you can play at a reasonnable sound level (your neighbors will appreciate). If you have an IOS or Android device you can even go further with virtual drum and bass band styles (blues, rock, funk and pop) to play with you. It's really useful for learning. Integrated Tuner. You can also get some presets of famous artists if you wanna play a track you like sounding nearly like the original one. You can try to play with effects by your own to discover variety of sounds amps/pedals. The only thing else you have to buy is a guitar and a cable :) then rock'n'roll !
In fact, it's a really good all in one amp for learning.
But if it's for playing with a band I think it's too small.
Note : compatible with electric basses. A good point if you want to learn both instruments like me and not have too much gear at home.
Sorry, my english is not perfect.
