Reggie Young Jr - rediscovering session legends.

When I was a kid my Dad had a record, Dobie Gray - Drift Away, I used to listen to a lot. I recently remembered the guitar on the record as being very cool and did a bit a snooping and found it was Reggie Young Jr. He was a part of a session group (The Mempis Boys) for Atlantic Records studio American Sound Studios. He composed some iconic riffs. Some of the songs he contributed to - Suspicious Minds, Drift Away, Son of A preacher Man, Kentucky Rain, Allways on My Mind. Check him out. I have added him to the Artist on Equipboard.

With the recent trend in making documentaries about underappreciated session musos like, 20 Feet From Stardom, The Wrecking Crew and Muscle Shoals (The Swamp Ducks) it would be great if a film about Reggie and The Memphis Boys was made. There is a short documentary made by Gil Baker.

I love his clean, soulful and musical style. What do you guys and gals think?
