spectraflex or kirlin guitar cable?

which is better?

I was looking for cables in amazon and found 2 of similar prices

Kirlin Cable IWB-201BSG-10/BW Straight Premium Plus Instrument Cable Brown Black Tweed Woven Jacket

Spectraflex Baldee Series

I'm not familiar with either brand. Mogami is considered one of the best though.

Are you looking for complete instrument cables or are you looking to make your own cables?

If making your own, like for pedal patches and stuff, I would avoid the braiding of the woven covering on the Kirlin and the Spectraflex, because will be a nightmare to keep neat.

If buying complete cables, I like the look and the specs of the spectraflex better. The moulded rubberised plastic ends on the Kirlin means less control if you ever have to try and find breaks in the cable, the Spectraflex allows you a bit more area to work with.

From the examples I have found at least.

GEAR:
  • Fender MIJ Jazzmaster JM62
  • Epiphone Dot
  • Electro-Harmonix Sovtek "Green Russian" Big Muff Pi V7C

i use a similar kirlin i like it but it's hard to wind

I've had the same spectraflex since the mid 90s, still going strong.... 'nuff said.

GEAR:
  • Roland Juno-6
  • Gibson SG Standard
  • Vox AC30 Guitar Combo Amp

I've said it before and ill say it again vox and lava are my favs but i also love coil cables

I've had both, definitely the spectraflex. This best guitar cable list actually prompted me to try out the spectraflex. Pretty pleased after several months of use, only gripe is they can be a little stiff.
