Stolen Effect pedals and SKB Pedalboead Case

My Gear for Jazz/Fusion is now history! Yes I mean gone. The Soul Train Cruise 2024 and third-party handlers allow my gear to disappear. What would you do? If you went to play an event and your equipment came up missing. I did speak to all the proper authorities. I'm venting here yes! This happened Jan 26 - Feb-3

Okay, everyone including me thought I'd never get it back! So I'm trusting in GOD! he is real the case is recovered and I'm waiting on the Effects Case to return. It has been found to repeat. It has been recovered.

04/08/2024 update: Lyes Lyes and more lyes!!! not found

I'm going to write this story later! how it was found is weird.

turns out wrong again

I'm sorry that happened to you.

I'm assuming you've already talked to the third-party handlers support folks? Sometimes they're insured. If not, did you have insurance on the gear? Since you filed a police report, seems like personal insurance could cover it?

Again, sorry you're going through this.

GEAR:
  • EarthQuaker Devices Westwood
  • Fender '57 Custom Champ
  • Fender American Original '50s Telecaster

Thank for your kind words! I currently wrote and email of concern to one of the handler companies. I haven't gotten a response yet. This is not good I had to let the agency that booked us try to handle it with dignity but no avail. So I'm posting to let others beware the people involved in the Soul Train Cruise are not cool as you think. I'm trying not to mention names the longer the hold Im going to post for more information for musician to see

Mr. Carmichael,

It's an honor to have you here.

I too am very sorry this happened to you -- what a nightmare to have to deal with all this, especially on an isolated cruise tour.

There are so many amazing stories you could be telling right now, but instead, you're forced to talk about this situation. That's a tragedy in and of itself.

I hope you able to get through your tour obligations despite the loss?

You are so right. This is the craziest story. I've waited a long time to display and play the best guitar set up for me. Something affordable for me this was my quick getup-and-run tool for the show. Well, I'm looking for insurance now for my equipment. This website has helped me keep up with that. I'm putting together a new one slowly. I will never trust another helper, or stage production personnel again ever! I've met many cool instrument tech guys but these young people have no clue. The show must go on, right? That was the first time I had to play a spare fender-strat. I hate to say it, but it was not cool it had no professional setup. I know what means now LOL... I do have my original pedalboard that cost more to take on the road oh well!

Oh man, that makes my fingers ache just thinking about it. I'm sorry you had to deal with a bad setup for the whole cruise. I'm sure you gave 'em a great show, regardless.

These are dark times indeed when roving bands of maritime ruffians can seize stompboxes from working musicians at will. Why, even those of us who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic strain in this particular period of history!

My friend you have said a mouth full you sure are correct. There's so much more in this that I felt. That it's a whole different level now these people are at me for the crazies of things. I think other entities are involved. But I'll say leave the Soul Train Cruise alone. Many problems are not seen.
