To Split or not to Split - Pickup Choices

I'm modding a guitar atm with the intention to get as much tone variation as possible. I've found the perfect set of humbuckers for my sound (and budget) BUT, as standard, they only have 2 conductor wires.

Do I mod them, forget about the splitting or keep shopping for something else??

GEAR:
  • Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler
  • TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Reverb
  • Blank slot

Shop for something else. There is just no getting around the 2-conductor wiring, hence the reason why I ditched the SD 59 for the Pearly Gates.

GEAR:
  • Ibanez RG652FX
  • Ibanez S521-MOL
  • Blank slot

Damn :( Cheers my dude

GEAR:
  • Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler
  • TC Electronic Hall of Fame 2 Reverb
  • Blank slot

Hope it's not too late... but some pickup companies such as Tonerider or Guitarfetish offer coil split options for all their humbuckers as far as I know, they also have a wide variety, and are pretty budget friendly! I got Tonerider Alnico ii humbuckers which were able to coil split, something pretty rare as Alnico ii-s in general are rarely able to do that, the tone was actually much better than what I expected, and the low price was amazing!

GEAR:
  • Jolana Iris
  • Jolana Vikomt Bass
  • Positive Grid Spark

Cheers dude, I'll have a look. My current favourite options are Irongear's Blue Engine or Madloves' WR-PAFs
