Vox AC30VR buzzing at low volume

I recently bought an AC30VR. It is a great amp for the money, but there is always a quite buzzing noise droning underneath the sound of the guitar. Anybody know any reasons why this could be?

What guitar are you playing through it? and are you using low quality cables? have you got it near anything that could give interference I.e a mobile phone. Also try a different power outlet. if you are using a extention lead try going straight into the mains outlet instead. if its still buzzing then who knows? Some amps just buzz anyway even when new

I am player through a Fender 72' Tele Deluxe and using Cordial cables. I have actually just realised that I have a few cables running directly behind the amplifier which are almost touching it. They are running to my stereo and the speakers so there are three wires. Could this be interfering with the amp?

I would guess its the single preamp tube. Try putting a fresh 12ax7 in there 1st and foremost. It could also be a dying speaker. Weird speaker noises can sound like an amp problem.... or it could just be inherent to the ac30vr? Hybrid circuits are weird

The 12ax7 tube isn't very old but I guess it probably sat in the shop for quite a while. Thanks for the advice

Its not a promise, just a cheap thing to check. I would think about trading her in towards a legit ac30 asap.

take a look on the used market like Ebay or jims favourite, Reverb. Theres no way I would have afforded my Laney new but I got it for £230-£240 used which is around £260-£270 less than new. Obviously vox ac30s hold value better than Laney vc30s do. Also take a look at amps that have similar circuits to the ac30 or try finding on in a pawn shop and put a down payment on it and pay it off weekly or what have you

I just can't imagine being this broke and whiney.... I get off my butt and satisfy my ears.
