Unparalleled performance for the money for larger pedal collections

The Walrus Audio Canvas Power 15 is a 15-output pedal power supply, and it sports some standout features as well as a sleek, compact, low-profile design. As of the time of writing, it is the second-largest Walrus pedal power supply from the Canvas series, between the Power 8 and the Power 22.

We were immediately impressed with the packaging and unboxing experience. Walrus certainly puts some thought into aesthetics, start to finish. In the package, you get 15 power cables and mounting brackets to help attach this unit to certain pedalboards. The power supply itself is really nice looking - almost a shame that it will sit out of sight underneath a board. The whole line of Walrus Canvas Power units feels rugged and well-built.

Feature-wise, it’s impressive. The 15 outputs provide ample 500mA 9V power. Two out of the 15 outputs are actually switchable between 9V, 12V, and 18V. This is a very small gripe, but the smaller Canvas Power 8 supply also has two variable voltage outputs, so it would have been nice to get three or four with this larger supply.

One of the smartest features that we would like to see more power supplies adopt is a power meter with 4 LEDs that spans from 10% to 100%, letting you know how much of the available power is being used. Yet another smart feature is a USB-C port to the left of the power outputs, so on top of powering your pedals you can charge a phone or tablet. Furthermore, each output has a green LED above it indicating that output is giving power, which is a handy reference when you’re looking at a mess of cables and pedals. These small but thoughtful features make this a standout pedal power supply.

In terms of operation, we encountered absolutely zero issues. Each output is isolated, and we experienced a silent and clean signal with every pedal we hooked up to it.

In terms of a pedalboard build, we slotted it under a Pedaltrain Nano MAX with no issue. Yes, we realize a Nano+ won’t fit 15 pedals, but we just wanted to prove how sleek this unit is. It’s just over 12 inches wide and only 1 inch tall. The power cables it includes have a 90-degree plug on the pedal end, which is another thoughtful, space-saving design detail from Walrus.

Bottom Line: It can be tough to select a power supply since their primary job is simple - deliver clean, isolated power to multiple pedals at once. The Walrus Audio Canvas Power series stands out with its well-thought-out features that go the extra mile, like the USB-C port and power consumption meter. Plus, 500mA power per output is very impressive. If your pedal collection has hit 8 pedals and you’re thinking about expanding, it is with little hesitation that we would recommend the investment in the Walrus Canvas Power 15.
