Martin sound for a budget price

I found one of these in a pawn shop. It was the first time I had ever played a Martin. I was blown away. The issue I had with that guitar is someone had put a few cracks in it. The price was right but I just could not pay for a guitar with that much damage.

For the next month I looked for a Martin with a good price that was in good shape. Not an easy task.

During that time I also picked up every model and brand of acoustic that I could get my hands on. Gibson, Taylor, Takamine, Yamaha, Ibanez, Fender, etc. Nothing hit my ears like this Martin.

Does it sound as good as the D28? no. But it sure sounds better than anything else I could find in the price range.

Its worth it. Get a Martin. It really does sound that much better.

Crate that sounds great!

With 4 12ax7's and 4 el84's this thing is nice and loud. Not so great as a practice amp. I picked it up off of craigslist and while it shows some wear it still sounds like a champ. I had to move it out to the shop because my wife would no longer let me play it in the house.

True Spring reverb great sound. Can't go wrong. Eventually I would like to try some other speakers in it but for now it sounds good so I am not too worried about it.

Great little practice amp

Nice warm tube sound. I bought this little guy as my second tube amp. The first was a 2x12 and a bit too loud for home use. This is quiet enough to use in the bedroom but when you drive the tubes it will really sing loud. Takes pedals well but I normally just play it as is with a bit of reverb on the "Fat" sound.

Love it!

Bargain Acoustic Electric

Picked this up new for about 100 bucks online. Sounds pretty good for the price. Electronics work well. Action is ok but harder to play when you get up high. Most acoustics seem to have this problem but it is just fine for a strummer. A good backup guitar or one to take with you when you don't mind it getting beat up a little.

I'd buy one again if this one were to get ruined as its a great guitar to just have around.

Easy playing cheap strat

I picked one of these up used for about fifty bucks, the action was a bit high and it needed a setup. I adjusted the neck a bit and lowered the saddles. Now it plays great. Does it sound like a fender yes, but not a sweet by any means.

The other thing I would note as I did not know this till after I bought it was that the Affinity series has a smaller width neck that a standard strat. Makes it a bit tougher to play for my big fingers but not horribly so. I do however prefer a wider neck so mine sees little play time.

Nice sounding playable stratocaster that will not break the bank

In the 90's I had a MIM strat that I played almost exclusively. I put down the guitar for many years and on a whim decided to pick it back up again. I picked one of these up off craigslist for a song after reviewing it online.

It plays just as nice if not better than the strat I had years ago. The tone is great, the action is low and I just can't find a single flaw. is it an American strat, no. Will it be worth hundreds and hold its value, likely not.

But for a guitar that sounds and plays great for a great price you cant go wrong with one of these.
