Since I have had this guitar I have changed pickups multiple times. Now settling on the Jamie slays legendary gatekeeper from hell in the neck and rail keeper in the bridge. Both designed to emulate dimebag Darrell’s sound

The early 2000s Schecter C-1 Diamond Series models, particularly from 2003–2004, are widely respected for offering high-end performance at an accessible price point. These Korean-made guitars were part of the original Diamond Series push that helped solidify Schecter as a major player in the hard rock and metal scene.
This C-1 features a mahogany body with a set maple neck and rosewood fretboard, providing rich sustain and warm tones with a tight low end. The 24-fret neck and 25.5” scale make it a shredder’s dream, especially when paired with its thin U-shaped profile and jumbo frets.
Factory pickups during this time were typically Duncan Designed HB-102s (modeled after Seymour Duncan’s JB/’59 combo), giving it a punchy, high-output tone ideal for heavy rhythm work and lead playing. Some models from this era were later modded with real Seymour Duncans or EMGs, making them a favorite among budget-conscious players chasing pro tones.
It also came with quality hardware for the price—Tune-o-matic bridge with string-thru body, Grover tuners, and a flawless high-gloss finish. Available in a range of finishes, including Black Cherry and See-Thru Blue, these models are now considered sleeper hits for collectors and gigging guitarists alike.
