The only fuzz that I've ever actually enjoyed... and wowee it's nice!
This arrived and I had no clue what to expect, I have tried fuzz pedals before but they never would cooperate with my AC30. I ordered this as a last ditch effort to enjoy fuzz and guess what? IT'S AWESOME!
It's fairly low gain for a fuzz but it's definitely a still a fuzz. It cleans up great and can go into a full wall of fatness with the depth turned up. The voltage selector gives a good selection of tones, with the 3v being the "buzziest" which makes sense as the original Selmer "Buzz Tone" circuit was 3v only. The 9v can get huge and full sounds, fairly reminiscent of a Fuzz Face and the 6v reminds me of the classic Tonebender tones.
My only gripe with the pedal is that it is quite noisy, but that was expected with a germanium circuit and didn't surprise me at all. Especially being used to using a germanium treble booster. So if you're one of those players that insists on having a silent rig, this isn't for you, even a noise gate would not be able to save you from the lovely lovely germanium hiss.
All in all, it's an awesome pedal and I recommend it to anyone wanting a good versatile fuzz, ESPECIALLY if you use an AC30 because we all know how fussy they can be.

ac30? did you try your other fuzzes in the normal channel? the top boost (or non top boost brilliant channel) often ahs a bright cap across the volume and uses a very small 500pf coupling cap from V1 to the volume (standard is anywhere from 47nf to 10nf, even the brightest marshall are 2200pf and hiwatt did 1000 PF with their bassier circuit). Also, if this is a Jordan bosstone clone its more of a transistor based hard clipping distortion.... its a cousin of the dan Armstrong blue clipper, tis not exactly a fuzz.

Hi, I only use the normal channel and am fully aware of the bright cap you're mentioning, having built several tube amp clones before. I have tried many different fuzzes into the normal channel and I never liked them, as I mentioned several times.
This is a clone of the Selmer Buzztone, not the Jordan Bosstone. I understand there are some similarities in the circuit but due to the circuit being so basic, even minimal changes makes a very different pedal.

Used when I don't have my Deacy amp
Fairly useless amp for overdrive without pedals, but if the EQ is set: Bass = 10 Treble = 2 1/2 with the drive switch on WITH the treble booster, it arrives at a sound fairly close to a Deacy amp.

I don't own the Fryer but I own a RS Custom...
The closer RS replicas have such a unique feel compared to the Brian May Guitars replicas and are well worth the extra cash.
