It's the 1st effect i ever got. 1st of all: it's power efficient. Stick a 9V in it and you can forget for a long while. It sounds good if you set it up nicely, and i'd say it's pretty small. It definitely sounds better than a cheap amp's distortion/overdrive. It may be plastic, but it's also pretty durable. I don't know if it has true bypass, but i don't care.
TL:DR: Good if you're a begginer or intermediate player. Just set it up nicely.
It's cheap, durable, and sounds nice, looks are also good, and the humbucker really helps. I can comfortably play a lot of stuff on it - from post punk such as "Kino", to "Vader"'s deathmetal riffs. The only thing i have against it is the fact it doesn't stay in tune very long, but it's not too bad. If you wanna start out: it's in my opinion the best guitar for that.
