FL Studio is the route to take if you are programming a dozen of melodies and ideas in your head and need to lay them down quickly before you forget them. Very user friendly and affordable too. Very stable with Windows and unfortunately a setback with MAC OSX .Manipulation of samples in this program is amazing. Piano roll like no other, plugins are also very efficient.
