Boss. Boss, Boss, Boss. They're cheap, Versatile and Durable. And you can replace them at any music store in the world. Boutique gear is great if you have a nice bus and a good case and a team of sound engineers. But if you're a low level musician, go for Boss or MXR. All my Boss pedals have served me very well.

I especially recommend anything after the DD-5. Truly terrific sounding

Okay, so far I know the Richie Sambora double neck, Bret Michaels' Dean. And John 5's Fender acoustic. But they're involved in so many of the genre hits, those can't be all the signatures out there from hair metal shredders. Also Steve Vai has his Ibanez and Slash has a never ending torrent of models from Gibson and Epiphone
