Gear 1

I bought a Hofner 174 from 1972, made in Germany about a year ago. It comes with two humbuckers with an amazing vintage sound (not waxed, got to be careful with the gain settings on your amp!) standard 3 way switch, 2 tones, 2 volumes and also a phase switch for every mic which gives you several great combinations. Neck and body are made of solid mahogany, set neck. It´s very lightweight (as an SG should be, i guess) but it sounds killer, plenty of mid-lows, mids and highs. Excellent player, it´s a very easy to play guitar, mine was set up with low action and sounds amazing. Had to replace the tuners with some gotoh (kluson lookalike) and it keeps in tune very well.
