Great course but not for newbies

This is an excellent course. I’m 1/3 of the way through and just finished my first of three songs. I’ve learned a huge amount especially by looking over Kygo’s shoulder as he creates a song following the exercises he assigns you. You watch him do it and then you apply what he did to your song.

Pluses... Great quality video Detailed instructions on what to do and why Great selection of “stems” (starting tracks for songs) to choose from Great use of peer help and review in the course Super helpful to see what plugins and tools Kygo uses to get his sounds Covers every step and has you build your production incrementally over several days Moves fast so you don’t get bored

Things to think about... You don’t have to know how to play or know music theory but it really helps. Kygo gives a one hour theory summary that’s really good to help with this The pace is very fast and if you don’t keep up or at least catch up every couple of days, you’ll get overwhelmed easily. So,etikes he goes so fast doing things that you have to watch several times and a little more detailed explanation would be nice to have If you don’t already know something about music software it will be harder because you need to add advanced things like automation, side chain and bussing. All of this is google able and you tube find able but plan on LOTS of extra research to get that stuff down. It will help if you already have or have the cash to buy plugins like Nexus, Sylenth, Kontakt, Cableguys, and Ozone. Most are affordable but Nexus is crazy expensive for the fuller versions.

I love the course and am super happy with it. I would give it 5 stars if Kygomdtopped in for a q and a or if there was some additional optional deep dove into automation and side chain and some of the topics that are important but get light coverage in the training videos.
