Gear 2

I had wanted one of these the first time I saw them. Joe is such an amazing player. I subsequently bought one second hand from a music school claiming that all the authenticity paper work was included in the sale. This turned out not to be true and took the shine off of my purchase. But I found that even with my disappointment I could not put the guitar down. I was compelled to play it. It is such a beautiful guitar. The neck feels like a baseball bat but you soon forget about that because it is such a playable guitar. After a while I noticed a couple of other flaws as a result of belonging to the school. The nut was chipped on the low E side but my heavy 58 wasn't going anywhere. One of the pots spindles was bent also. The nut was replaced by a Tusq and the pot and the four knobs were replaced with top hats. The saddles were replaced with Tusq also and the bridge wrap over setup was implemented. I use GHS Lowtune 11-58 when I can't get hold of GHS's SRV sets.
After ordering this on a preorder status from Guitar Center after having received an email from Joe's official website it has finally arrived. I think I ordered it in January and finally got it in November. On initial opening of the case I was in awe. The blue is so striking and the finish is fantastic. I did notice the knurled nut that holds the toggle switch was missing but a quick nod to the repair guy at Guitar Center had him going through his box of bits and he came up trumps for me. It was suggested that I look around the store for something else of a similar cost but I wasn't leaving the store without that guitar.
