Roland’s Greats in a compact package!
This synth is just perfect for me! I really vibe with its sound and controls! It’s just a perfect synth if you dig those fat but accurate Jup and Juno sounds with swirling chorus!!
The Pros Jupiter-8, Juno-106, JX-3P, Jupiter-4, Juno-60, SH101 - with spot-on sound all in one keyboard! All controls at your fingertips FX to have a complete sound High Quality sound, balanced outputs and USB audio/MIDI The pitch/mod stick is great Good quality screen, clear menu structure Organize mode to reorder patches Patch names up to 16 symbols.
The Cons (yes there are some, but they are not a dealbreaker!) 49 shorter keys, not 61 full-size No aftertouch 64 presets per Synth Engine - total 256; 128 would’ve been great (total 512) Performances point to fixed locations - if you reorder your sounds the performances are lost.. Patch name alphabet always defaults to upper case, default lower case or even automatic lower case for names would be great, like in opsix. The green lights, although not a dealbreaker, should have been multi-color. Imagine orange for Jupiter and red for Juno!! No “advanced mode” for the Jup and Juno models, apart from Env2 for Juno. LFO is mono, not per key for the vintage models. External power brick..
But all that still leaves a very desirable and awesome sounding synthesizer!!
