This is a great beginners amp from a good brand. I have had no problems with mine, it sounds great. I mostly put into overdrive and gain for that rock tone. Its a decent size too, good for playing in a bedroom without it annoying the neighbors!
Good layout with the humbucker. However mine doesn't have quite as nice quality as a higher end fender Strats. At some point i would like to replace the stock humbucker it with a Seymour Duncan invader to get that Blink 182 tone! :p
I was used to using a Fender heavy pick, it was ok. But since trying one of these out I now favor this as its small and and pointed end makes it easy to pick fast. In terms of longevity I cant say as i have only been using it for a month. I use a 2.0 thickness, i haven't tried any of the others but im sure they are just as good.
