Well the only non free ones i have are the Korg stuff (i dont have Odyssey or Legacy Cell), Kontakt, Massive, Sound Canvas VA, and Hypersonic 2. I tend to use a lot of free ones. funny is even though i have those, all my other stuff including freeware i use is freeware.
Posted in Synths, Music Production & DJing / Sub $200 old 90s keyboard for music I want to make (description in text)
I want a new or used synth keyboard under $150 for used and under $200 new. I am planning on making an EP with covers of 3 folk songs (American, Indonesian, and La Bamba or La Paloma), 1 older foreign song, and an original song about birds. I plan on using some cheesy instrument emulations like harmonica, violin, accordion, strings, piano, guitar, and brass. Maybe also drum beats would be cool.
I’m looking at different ROMpler home keyboards and arrangers, old Casio stuff (even though I have a SK-1), and Yamaha PSS/PSR stuff. This is because I’m going for that old school disco reggae, disco dangdut, and disco keroncong sound from Indonesia.
Here’s 7 different examples of what I want to sound like. P.S.: what kind of sounds can you hear in these songs?
I’m looking for those cheap late 80’s/early to mid 90’s Asian ROMpler/Casio/home keyboard sounds without software (I have too much) or breaking the bank (under $150 used or $200 new).
I have a Casio SK-1, Yamaha MX49, and Korg Minilogue and some software like the Korg M1, Korg Wavestation, and Dexed but those don’t have all the sounds I want even though they have some close, except I like the SK-1 piano and certain MX49 bell and synth sounds. I’m a sucker for those old Indonesian 90’s disco synths, I know they used an M1 and DX7 in this stuff for sure but not sure about some of the other sounds (maybe a Technics keyboard like the KN-800 or KN-1000 and maybe a Juno or JX8P for some sounds and definitely samplers that could load Zero G Datafile).

I say Synth1, Dexed, SQ8L, Full Bucket and Elektrostudio stuff (former came out with a Poly-800 plugin recently), and K1v, a new Kawai K1 VST. This is true even though I mostly use paid plugins.
Posted in General / What was your first instrument purchase?
a Casio PT-80, Casio SA-20, later a violin and a cheap First Act acoustic guitar.

Thanks. I listen to a variety of music and bands. I listen to mostly rock, mid 60s to early 2000s pop, Indonesian pop/rock/reggae/kids/regional music, and anything else really with electric or mixed electric and acoustic instrumentation.

Hello! I'm Michael from the DMV area. I'm an amateur keyboardist and synth player and programmer who loves FL Studio 12 because it's really fun! And making unique songs. I have been working to collect data on gear people use. As you can see from my submissions, I like Asian music. My SoundCloud is Pigeon City, in case you're curious.
