Great

Nice, warm sounding acoustic guitar. Mahogany version sounds extremely good in particular.

replace the soapbars with some fralin hum free ones, and put some 500K CTS pots in while you are at it.... you can thank me later when you start using your wildcat more

ocanderson

I will thank you later for the advice!

Pretty good loop pedal

This pedal makes it easy to loop chord progressions, and has plenty of space (Up to 200 loops). The general settings can get a bit confusing, so make sure not to throw away the manual right when you get it. Overall, reliable looper.

good review of a ubiquitous student modeller

ocanderson

Lol thanks. I'm starting to get really sick of this amp, I played a fender tube with 6v6's once and instantly started hating my Line 6. I'll be getting a Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb soon, thankfully.

when you get that DRRI you'll play a vintag one ina store and then you'll be down the rabit hole of modding your RI to sound right or you'll be pawnin' everything to get a stock SF one, dude... its sad, when Iw as a kid my 1st amp was a legit '64 Princeton reverb, got it for free from my uncle.... I got all the BF fenders I ever owned for udner 500 bucks too, there are plenty to go around, or there were, and the whole vintage craze hadn't kicked in with amps apart from voxes and marshalls and even they were pretty affordable compared to now

ocanderson

I'm not really planning on modding anything... I was just looking around on Reverb.com for a '65 Reissue.

you say that now, lol.... amps a total rabbit hole, moreso than guitars

Awesome Pedal

This pedal is very easy to use and sounds great. Many different presets that all sound unique to each other. You can get all kinds of awesome, atmospheric sounds out of this thing.

That thing looks awesome! I've never seen one but will check it out and see if I can get my hands on one to hear the tone. Thanks for sharing.

ocanderson

No problem!

you should see the vintage ones from the alte 70s and early 80s, they look really good in vintage white or classic burst colors.... and check out the even nicer mid 70s Greco MR and MX guitars the artists were based on, I have an MR1000 from I think 77 that is literally my favorite guitar.

my vintage one is not neck heavy, by the way, has great balance sitting or standing

ocanderson

I had heard that the new artist series are reissues from around 30 years ago that's what inspired me to buy it. And yeah, I'm sure there are some differences between the 70's models and the most recent ones. The neck heaviness on mine is not that bad, it's not unbearable.

its just SGish? you get the wrong SG and it just wants to flop to the floor, I hate that.... I won't buy an SG that does that even if it has good sustain, resonance and playability.... took years of shopping to find one I liked to play standing up that wasn't a dog

the artists from back in the day Ibanez branded Greco MX series guitars I think, the MX1000 is the Greco to have though they are thin on the ground even in tokyo, and in Ibanezes you want an AR1000 or better, the older the better, though the Ibanez models are mostly finished in poly and don't have fret edge binding while higher end Greco MR and MX models are lacquered and have really superb binding work. The Grecos also have better pickups, electronics and tuners

if you wanna see a really nice example of a vintage one go to my 'gear porn' section and blow up the third picture, captioned family photo

ocanderson

ok i'll check it out

ocanderson

and yes, it's a bit SGish neck wise, haha. Not as bad as most SGs. though.

ocanderson

@jimmarchi1 it looks sick! Love the sunburst finish on it.

my SG has a huge baseball bat of a neck, really sturdy and fun to play.... but mine's kinda odd for current production standards, that's why I bought it

ocanderson

Ah. I will agree that the necks are fun to play on.
