I find it interesting that you guys know of Fela. I didn't realize his music had that kind of reach.

I'm not really a fan of his, though.

We don't have much of spontaneous praise breaks.

There is a section of the service dedicated for Praise, and yes they normally last that long. There could also be a praise section when it's time to collect offerings, so folks would dance and then drop their offerings in a basket at the front and then go back to their seats.

Sometimes its similar, we often do covers of the gospel songs played over there but we do it in our own style.

Yeah, I do know a lot of musicians.

The thing is, live music over here is mostly done in churches so most of the musicians I know are church musicians who are often not willing to try out other genres. (I'm also a church musician 😅)

I'm still searching though, hopefully I'll find a few who share same interests with me.

I've been on here for about a year but this is my first forum interaction. This is me just saying Hi!

I work as software engineer at some company but I would really like to start my own band.

I love Prog, Metalcore, Jazz Fusion, Funk and some others. Any advice or "Hellos" would be appreciated!
