A great tribute to the most popular recording amp for bass players
The Ampeg Heritage B-15 is a great little bass amp that delivers the best recording tones for bass players. The heritage added a 1964 and a 1966 channel to offer different sounds. They updated the power to take an IEC removable power cable, and they updated the speaker connectors to offer more choices in external cabinets. The great flip top design remains allowing you to pack it up, take it to a gig, flip the top up and have some great tones all night. The tube head is protected in side of the cabinet while its in transit. It features an eminences 1x15 speaker, original style grill cloth and tolex. I paired mine with a Portaflex 2-10 HE cabinet for some brighter tone and can use them together for a little more volume. This is not a loud amp. It is great for home practicing and recording. But if you mic it up with a Sennheiser 421 or better mic - it sounds amazing live.

Great cab simulator for bass players too!
The guitarist in my band was looking for a cab simulator to help him get a Mesa Boogie cab sound and he found the Torpedo CAB M+. After he found the right sounds and demoed them at rehearsal, he said I should get one because it has over 30 bass cabinets setups too. I purchased it along with the complete bass cab library and I have been blown away. I use the Fridge (Ampeg SVT 8x10) most frequently. But I tweek it depending on which bass I am using and what the show type is. I can change the type of microphones (ribbon, dynamic, etc), their alignment, and front or back of cab. I can turn on a tube-power amp simulator to get a little more growl in my tone, and I can use their extensive set of tone shapers. Each setup can be saved as a separate preset and can easily be changed when I change basses during the show. I forgot to mention that micro adjustments are easy because the pedal supports Blue Tooth, so I can hit it from my phone and dont have fiddle with the small pedal GUI. Great addition to my pedal box, and worthy of the extra weight when flying to shows.

The best direct box for touring bass players
The Radial JDV is my favorite direct box for bass guitars. What I love is that it has 2 inputs that work great for different kinds of inputs. One is great for magnetic pickups and has a variable gain knob and a high-pass filter to roll off unneeded high frequencies. The other input can be switched from mic to line, can have the resistance changed, and also has a HPF. This is great for using it with a mic on an upright bass or acoustic bass, and the other with a magnetic pickup bass. I used an Alembic one one input and a passive/lower output bass on the other, and I can match the gain levels going out to FoH (and back into my in-ears.). The JDV also features a tuner out, for continuous tuning on either channel, and a thru jack for sending out to a stage amp. It also works with a Radial JR-2 foot switch so I can mute and change channels with 2 different pedals. It uses a TRS cable to support both functions with 1 cable.
