Great amp
Recorded an EP with a new band and we were kind of in a hurry to get the tracking done. I was in between amps at the time and had to take what I could get. A friend let me borrow his MK1 50watt 1x12 version of this amp which I had never used (or even really heard of) before. I was blown away by the tones I was getting and it’s the tracking that was used and on Spotify, Apple music etc today. When it came to buying a new amp, I just went with the bigger, newer, louder version. Amazing tones, reliable, BOSS built in effects, power settings of 0.5 watt for practice, 50 and 100 for gigs. It’s loud, sounds amazing and is very versatile; all the while maintaining it’s own personal character.
Preferred Settings + Usage:
I don’t use the patches that you can download and connect to the amp, I’m more a plug in, dial in a tone and go kind of player. I do use the Katana Librarian app to add and swap effects/boosts/modulation. Generally I use the Crunch channel, gain on around 5, eq pretty much all at 12 and just tweak slightly for whatever room I’m in. I then have the build in Tube Screamer effect for a boost, the chorus mod, heavy octave effect (which is fantastic!) and the modulated reverb.
But you really can’t get a bad sound out this amp it’s just great.
