Hello, I've been into midwest emo and math rock for years now, and was just looking for some pointers on how to make my tone better without having to spend a ton of money. I've tried to play around with my amp some, trying to dial in a good tone, but none of it is as great as a lot of people I see. Thank you in advance :)

I think it really depends. I had an epiphone Les Paul, for a few years, and played my friends Gibson Les Paul, and it was a night and day difference. In some cases it is definitely okay to buy cheaper guitars, but you do get what you pay for. and the quality is a big difference. That's just my two cents.
