Jens Kidman's Gear
During this live prefomance at download festival, Jens can be seen using a shure SM58 wireless mic
Jens Kidman used the Neumann U87 Ai microphone for recording official vocals on "The Violent Sleep of Reason." This is confirmed in the official Meshuggah interview video on YouTube, where the shock mount and capsule size of the microphone are recognizable. Used to record vocals on Contradictions Collapse album as seen in the internet archived studio videos.
Jens Kidman can be seen using the AKG C414 EB microphone for recording vocals on the "I" EP, as documented in the 2004 studio recording footage shared by Haekki on YouTube, titled "Meshuggah - Making of I EP | 2004 Studio Recording Footage," where a pop filter is also in use.
Jens Kidman (with all the band members together) used the Neumann U67 in a studio-treated room to record gang vocals for the 'None' EP in 1994, as shown in the YouTube video "Meshuggah - Making of None EP | 1994 Studio Recording Footage" by Haekki, which captures the recording sessions without pop filters.
Usage of a soundelux U95 in the studio for its warm character resembling neumann type of microphones. This is confirmed by a Tue Madsen interview (?) where he says jens likes superlux neumann clones…but that it’s misspelled cause superlux neumann clones doesn’t exist. So yeah, this is the microphone used, with a pop filter as well
