Best way to listen to black metal
Hello, I just made a recent discovery on the best way to listen to black metal. I was playing bass learning some songs and so I played some Philosofem era Burzum. I was listening to it through my headphone through my bass amp and decided to play along with the the song “Jesu Tod”. This being black metal I decided to use my boss metal zone pedal for this. I put my phone next to the pick up by accident and heard the music playing, I thought it was just the volume on the phone at first but then I tried it again and heard the music being played. I was the most god awful low quality thing I ever heard because my metal zone was still on. So naturally I start e q-ing it to get the “best sound”. I encourage you to try and it and see how it sounds.

What’s the best way to show your band mates your songs?
I show them how the riff is played by playing it for them (I am a bassist). But it looks like something else is being played in the eyes of the guitarist.

I kinda do that right now, but it takes too much time to show them all how it goes.

All on paper, there is nothing personal about. I just don’t know how to show them.

I have several songs that I have wrote for the band that I am in, but there is no easy way to show my band mates how they go.

Getting rid of or simplifying control on a bass/guitar
I noticed that Jay Bentley of Bad Religion modifies his basses to have no control (Lol) knobs. I would like to how to do this because I don't mess with my tone or my volume at all.

What string gauges does everyone use?
Well I play bass and am currently using Dunlop 45-105, they sound great and are really warm and bright.

Well Maestro is Gibson's equivalent to Sterling by Ernie Ball Musicman's "Sub" series. It also looks like a pickaxe. That is all I know.

Thanks,I remember reading somewhere that he used a bass driver. But his "Pedal Board" at the was pretty bare. On here it says that Krist used a Pro Co RAT distortion on many recordings, most notably In Bloom which was around that time, that probably gave it some more grit.

Hello, I was watching some live Nirvana videos (specifically live at the Paramount) and his bass tone is one of the best I heard. I Know he uses Gibson basses, but I am not sure of his amp settings.
