Excellent build quality, much more durable than Brooklyn era.
You don't get the binding rot on these like you do with the classic Brooklyn era because they didn't use celluloid. Say what you will about Boonesville Gretsch guitars, the good ones are great if you find one. The Chet Atkins models remained high quality through the Baldwin years even if they introduced some rubbish models in the 70s. This 7660 has a deeper body than the 6120 or 6119, with great sustain and a beautiful slim neck that plays fast with a great fret profile. Mine has a flawless finish and it's aged better than any other vintage guitar that I own. It stands up to any other high end Gretsch.
