Beautiful bass, well made, great value

The Sire V9 Gen 2 Marcus is similar to the Sire V7 but just beautifully crafted with a custom fingerboard. It rounded at the edge and the frets are perfectly crafted. The Black/gray wood is so beautiful and the back of the bass shows its natural wood. The Gen 2 is much better than the original Gen 1 (Don't buy the Gen 1). Sounds great for slap and I get that Marcus Miller tone. Plucking is solid and articulate. Playing this bass will reveal your playing flaws and the opportunity to improve. It's a VERY articulate bass. Battery compartment and other attention to detail is worth getting the Gen2. Active/Passive switch is a savior if your two 9V (18 Volt preamp) is getting depleted. Two Jazz pickups, Master Volume stacked over the master tone control sometimes move together. One Knob for pickup pan works very well. Active 18V preamp has wide tone versatility with 3 controls: Bass on bottom of bass controls, Midrange sweep and volume in a stacked knob also can stick and move together, Treble. I keep most of the controls just past the middle "notch". It does take some time to get the tone controls in the sweet spot for your playing style - yes, it is more complex than most basses. Only 21 frets. I prefer 24 for versatility. I find myself occasionally wanting a few more frets and wonder when someone will have some neck extension.

Its a very nice bass - especially for the money. Plays well but the stacked pot for Tone/Volume and Mid/Sweep Q both move together when I'm adjusting these pots. Really challenging to get great sound. I almost wish I had presets (like a car radio) because if the setting is off it just sound thin and flacid.

The woodwork is beautiful. I bought mine on FaceBook Marketplace. It is a professional level bass but I may save up for a Sadowsky or Lakland Bass.

Made in Korea from Tune and sell for about $2000. http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~tune/tune/twx.standard/twx.standard.html In the USA you can find them much cheaper because people don't know the quality of they brand.
18 Volt Pre-amp (too 9volt batteries) is modern with great tone and easy to adjust. Well balanced. Very fast fretboard and clear tone especially for slap bass.

Good iOS Music interface for my Bass; plus a decent condenser mic

It a nice interface and sonically is great for Bass. I'm using JamKazam and other players loved my bass tone with my Guild Pilot 4 string. It does use up a lot of battery when plugged into my iPhone. It should have offered a pass thru power source.
