Absolute work horse of a guitar, own the red model with the rosewood neck. never needed to replace anything on the instrument other than the volume and tone knobs (but this was for aesthetics reasons). I have gigged and recorded with it and its been incredibly reliable as well as sounding great as a straight rock guitar.
I own a 2007 model with a replacement bridge pickup (bare knuckle). Wanted one for years and it did not disappoint, super bright sounding in the bridge and full in the neck. Using both pickups together is where the guitar sounds the most unique to me, gives off a real deep yet clear tone thats perfect for rhythm playing.
I have newer model that I replaced the electronics on and I also installed a single Seymour Duncan invader (think Tom Delonge) and the build of this guitar made it incredibly easy to make these modifications. Great neck on this, super quick not too much finish. Does have trouble staying in tune from time to time so I do intend to replace the tuners and the bridge at some point.
What it does, it does well but I don't find it too versatile. I find it hard to get different styles of effect out of it. If your after a good sounding more subtle chorus for mostly overdrive tones then this is a good choice but if you're after something like a deep 80s sounding clean tone chorus then id say theres probably better options out there. I will say its lasted me countless gigs and in typical boss fashion it can really take a beating.
This is an amp that I honestly feel was designed just for me. The tone suits my style of playing so well and it can really do so much more than just your typical fender cleans, don't get me wrong those are there along with a incredible on board reverb but the burn channel is where this amp really shines. Its such a unique sounding drive channel, so warm sounding yet still keeping clarity and can be dialled from a light crunch to a creamy sounding higher gain. Thanks to the two separate gain controls, theres so much diversity to get out of the channel. honestly would never consider another amplifier. (Also I own the blonde version and its a great head turner visually)
