Made with my Blood, Sweat, and Tears
Basically took an old starter strat body, bought a secondhand neck, emg pickup, and floyd rose trem, and put it together. Painted the stripes with automotive paint and used some tuners I had lying around. The first few weeks its was a nightmare to play, but after a few setups and string changes, it plays near to the quality of official EVH striped series guitars. As well it has sentimental value being that I built it and love Eddie.

I applaud your DIY efforts! Paying for a factory made bolt on that you're going to mod anyway is lame.... and paying for a copy of a famous DIY guitar is double lame.
I feel just like Eddie
This guitar is one of my new found favorite instruments. With the EVH Striped guitar I feel just like Eddie. To start, the pickup is superbly "brown sounding", with just about any amp. It can go from blistering gain, to crystal cleans, in the flick of a know, for extreme versatility. The neck and overall feel of this guitar makes it fun to play, because its very forgiving and an ease of a playable instrument. The Floyd Rose allows for extremely stable tuning, with all the enjoyment of mindboggling divebombs. As well the paint job tops it all off, with one of the most memorable body paint designs of all time. My only complaint is that using such a guitar onstage makes you look like a bit of a fan boy playing Eddies replica, but whatever, I don't care, as long as it sounds great.
