I'm a fan of Pete, so my review will be sightly biased. To start, the bass itself is rough around the fretboard. The frets stick out slightly with age. As do some. The neck is maple so it gets very dirty. It's not finished or anything so it gets very dirty. For it's price, it comes with 2 Duncan Design (aka two pickups designed by Duncan but corners were cut making them) I swapped them out with sp-3s, and there wasn't much of a change. So I'd say the pickups are fairly well made for being Duncan Design. Next, the body, it has a nice finish, however due to wear and tear there's a crack in the finish. The body gets very fingerprinty if you touch it., So if you go gigging you'll want to refrain from touching it and cleaning it before use. The bridge does something really funny when adjusting the saddles, the screw sometimes won't stay flat and will stick out (easy fix, bang the screw with the back end of the screwdriver. I give bad advice, don't do this) I would recommend swapping the bridge out. Also, the nut is a synthetic or plastic, swap it out. The tuners have nothing wrong with them. The bass stays in tune perfectly, so no worries. Tldr version: Good beginner bass, stays in tune, I would swap out the nut to bone, tuners are fine, and plays well out of the box. I'd rate it a strong 7. For the $300 I purchased it for. However, Squier has stopped making it, so I would not buy it for more than $350. If you look at pictures, Went does play the Squier branded bass from time to time.
