The Kimball Challenger is an excellent organ/synthesizer for beginners. Notes above the keys, separated into two "keyboards" the smaller, two octave section has chord notes above the keys... works in conjunction with the "magic chords"/"magic memory"... allows you play and hold polyphonic chords with single keys.
Small pre-set of drum beats for accompaniment make this a very easily accessible song maker... if you can find one. I purchased mine in very good condition for $220 on craigslist. They are listed on reverb and ebay from time to time for $500 +
