completely standalone, visual friendly (with real-time oscilloscope for each deck, but sluggish like sleepy legless turtle

  1. it can work standalone without any laptop/tablet. also you can play your music from your hdd (fat32, ntfs, even hfs+)
  2. waveform analyzation will take eternity. but you can play without asciloscopes.
  3. one of the most user-unfriendly interface for browsing, trying to disable auto beat grid quantisation/etc
  4. build in effects behavior is very clumsy.
  5. eap. scs4dj has audio interface and lcd display, but you can use scs4dj only like a simpliest midi cnobs and 2 encoders. i mean, if your want to use it via traktor or any other dj software- you'll need another one audio enterface, and on the lcd screen you can only rename side button stickers. nice, aren't it?)
  6. but you can watch mp4 movie )) on 4.3" LCD
  7. forget about randomly b2b dj set. it works fine only with audio stuff, what it analyzed before
  8. platters are not so horable. they remind me cdj 100.
  9. lets imagine, you wanna play some 4x4 stuff, and use sync buttons. seems everything will be alright and now, imagine that your music is syncopied 160/172 bpm breakbit. or, worse- various bpm (from 140 to 185) music. And I'm talking not about using sync option. scs trying to quantise even cue points, what you will try to make accurate. it comes to me like a present for little work. and i sold it for cents

headphone trouble

Sonarwork Reference 3 headphone plug-in offers a low latency mode in addition to sonic accuracy. This allows using calibrated headphones for real time monitoring and other tasks where low latency is crucial. The third generation Sonarworks Reference headphone plug-in features a filter phase type slider which allows the engineer to adjust the filter phase type according to the use-case. Currently three filter phase type modes are offered – minimum phase, mixed phase, and linear phase: Minimum phase trades phase linearity for down to 1.13ms latency. Mixed phase mode gives the best of both worlds. Linear phase offers maximum accuracy for mixing, mastering, and other tasks where latency up to 60ms is acceptable. Sonarworks Reference 3 headphone plug-in also offers a completely reworked interface delivering a more intuitive and pleasant user experience. Tool tips will make it easier to use for those with less experience. Expert engineers will appreciate the advanced settings section as well as the option to customize the target curve for a more personalized sound signature. (c) kvraudio
