Highly Capable Polysynth for the Price
Weekend warrior, for the moment. I wanted a do-it all analog synth with a decent keyboard so I could use it to control VSTs in addition to playing it on its own. Heavy for the size, with sturdy metal construction.
Sounds like a Juno or a JX3P. In fact, with the preset packs from Jorb, it sounds identical to my ears! Plenty of controls to manipulate and the built in effects take it the extra mile. With some finesse (built in Rack Amp + Fairchild Compressor FX) it can even produce a decent monosynth bass voice!
Cons: Behringer made some weird (bad) choices with their init patch. The LFOs are stepping all over the sound and the mod wheel doesn't do the typical vibrato unless you go into the menus and assign it. When doubling up oscillators in Mono-2, mono-3, etc, the sound can be quite thin until you add a little oscillator drift. The aforementioned Jorb packs come with a MUCH better init patch that solves a lot of this. I think there's an immediate learning curve around this but it's generally easy to use.
