Chu Kosaka is confirmed to have used a Gibson J-50, as detailed in a Rittor Music magazine article. According to the article, this guitar was originally purchased by writer Tamio Kageyama in a pawn shop in America during the late 1960s. Kosaka later acquired the J-50 for 100,000 yen upon Kageyama's return to Japan. This instrument was prominently used in the recording of Kosaka's debut album, "Arigato," released in 1971, and became one of his signature instruments. Haruomi Hosono, who contributed significantly to the album, reportedly wrote and composed the title track "Arigato" after Kosaka acquired this guitar. Additionally, the J-50 was used in the recording of the album "HOSONO HOUSE," specifically on the track "Rock-a-Bye My Baby," when many musicians, including Kosaka and Hosono, lived near each other in Sayama. The article concludes by noting that the Gibson J-50 is now stored at the Taylor Artist Lounge in Hatsudai.
