Alesis D4 Drum and Percussion Sound Module

Avg price: $118.22

According to a user on a Japanese message board, Uematsu mentioned the D4 in a music magazine (possibly Keyboard Magazine).

"At the time of [Final Fantasy] VIII, he had Yamaha's NS-10M STUDIO (industry standard at the time). I don't know the manufacturer, but he used headphones. Regarding the other equipment, some sound sources were ROLAND SC-88Pro, E-mu Proteus1-3/VintageKeys and ALESIS D4. "

Many sounds from this drum machine can be heard in Front Mission: Gun Hazard and Final Fantasy VII (for example, the "Air Wrench" sound is used in Shinra's theme), both of which Uematsu worked on.
