Kember and Pierce opted to upgrade their guitar equipment ahead of recording the new demos. Kember purchased a Burns Jazz electric guitar and 1960s Vox Conqueror amplifier

During Spacemen 3 days and later on in his solo career he's been using a pre CBS Fender Jaguar. The image dates back to 1987. Peter holds this very guitar on the cover image of The Perfect Prescription.
