Formed in 1987, the trio consists of MC Serch (Michael Berrin) and Prime Minister Pete Nice (Pete Nash) as the vocalists, and DJ Richie Rich (Richard Lawson) as the turntablist. Hailing from Queens and Brooklyn in New York, 3rd Bass made significant contributions to the East Coast hip-hop scene with their sharp wit and socially conscious themes. Despite their relatively brief tenure together, they left a lasting impact on the genre, helping to pave the way for future artists with their two influential albums, The Cactus Album and Derelicts of Dialect.
