About
Babasónicos is a pioneering Argentine rock band known for their eclectic fusion of rock en español, Latin rock, and pop electronico, creating a sound that defies easy categorization. Formed in the early '90s in Buenos Aires, the group consists of Adrián Dárgelos (vocals), Diego "Uma" Rodríguez (guitar, vocals), Diego Tuñón (keyboards), Diego Castellano (drums), Gabriel "Gabo" Manelli (bass, until his passing), and Mariano Roger (guitar). Over the years, Babasónicos has challenged the conventions of Argentine rock, delivering bold, often provocative lyrics wrapped in catchy, radio-friendly tunes that resonate across Latin America.
How to Sound Like Babasónicos
Babasónicos crafts a dynamic and versatile sonic landscape that blends melodic pop sensibilities with experimental electronic textures. Their sound is both polished and adventurous, often characterized by the use of synthesizers like the Mellotron M4000D Mini and the Roland D-50, which add lush, layered harmonies and atmospheric depth. Guitars provide a rhythmic backbone, delivering both shimmering clean tones and gritty, overdriven riffs, with instruments like the Gibson V2 contributing to their rich, textured sound. Babasónicos' music thrives on dynamic contrasts and genre-blending elements, making their compositions both unpredictable and captivating.
