About
Bully is an indie rock project spearheaded by Alicia Bognanno, a powerhouse vocalist and guitarist known for her raw, unapologetic sound. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Bully’s music straddles the lines between indie punk, bubblegrunge, and gritty rock. While Bognanno remains the core and driving force behind the project, Bully often features a rotating cast of musicians both in the studio and on tour, amplifying the dynamic and visceral energy for which the project is celebrated.
How to Sound Like Bully
Bully's sound is characterized by its gritty, aggressive edge, blending distorted guitar riffs with an emotionally charged vocal delivery. The sonic landscape is both raw and textured, creating a visceral listening experience that is both cathartic and engaging. Bognanno often employs gear like the Fender Duo-Sonic HS for its punchy, mid-range bite and the Greer Amps Little Sampson to drive the overdriven, punk-inspired tones. The crunchy distortion and reverb-laden layers are further enriched by the EarthQuaker Devices Acapulco Gold V2, enhancing the dynamic range and emotive power of Bognanno's compositions. This combination of gear and gritty aesthetic makes Bully's music a compelling blend of melodic aggression and indie authenticity.
