About

deLillos is a seminal Norwegian pop band, originating from Oslo and formed in 1984. The group is comprised of Lars Lillo-Stenberg (vocals, guitar, organ, piano, synthesizer), Lars Lundevall (guitar, vocals), Lars Fredrik Beckstrøm (bass, vocals), and Øystein Paasche (drums, guitar). Known for their influential role in the 1980s Norwegian pop/rock scene, deLillos made an impressive debut with the album Suser Avgårde in 1986 and have maintained a significant presence in the music world. Their sound blends catchy pop melodies with rock elements, securing their status alongside other Norwegian greats like DumDum Boys and Raga Rockers.

How to Sound Like deLillos

deLillos' sound is characterized by melodic, jangly guitar work and bright, clean tones, often layered with lush harmonies. Their music combines elements of nostalgic pop with a rock edge, creating an engaging and upbeat sonic atmosphere. Utilizing effects such as the Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler for spatial echoes and the Boss CE-2 Chorus for shimmering modulation, they achieve a sound that feels both expansive and intimate. The rhythmic basslines and dynamic drumming provide a driving foundation, while the guitar's melodic interplay adds a layer of complexity and depth. The overall vibe is uplifting and approachable, making their sound both timeless and distinctively Norwegian.
