Their critically acclaimed albums have earned them numerous accolades, including Juno and Dove awards.
How to Sound Like Downhere
Downhere's sound is characterized by a blend of melodic rock and rich vocal harmonies, crafted through both acoustic and electric elements. The warm, articulate tones of a Fender Telecaster, often used by Marc Martel, contribute to their clean yet vibrant guitar work. The band's sonic landscape is further shaped by dynamic microphone choices, like the Shure SM7B, which captures their expressive vocal delivery. The rhythmic foundation provided by tight, driving bass lines from instruments such as the Fender Jazz Bass and energetic drumming form a cohesive backdrop, allowing their music to resonate with emotional depth and sincerity.
