About
Dozer is a pioneering stoner rock band from Borlänge, Sweden, formed in 1995. Known for their heavy riffs and powerful grooves, the group originally consisted of Frederik Nordin (vocals, guitar), Tommi Holappa (lead guitar), Erik Bäckwall (drums), and Johan Rockner (bass), who replaced early bassist Magnus Larsson. With a sound that blends space rock, doom metal, and psychedelic elements, Dozer has been a significant force in the international stoner rock scene, earning acclaim with their innovative approach to the genre.
How to Sound Like Dozer
Dozer's sound is characterized by its thick, fuzz-laden guitar tones and heavy, driving rhythms that create a powerful and immersive listening experience. Their music often features layered guitar textures that combine the searing leads of a Gibson Firebird with the harmonic depth provided by effects like the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man for delay and the Electro-Harmonix Holy Grail Nano for lush reverb. The use of the Wampler Plexi Drive overdrive pedal enhances their gritty, vintage-inspired sound, melding seamlessly with the thunderous bass and dynamic drumming to produce a sound that is both raw and expansive.
