About

Drenge is an English alternative rock band formed by brothers Eoin Loveless (vocals, guitar) and Rory Loveless (drums) in the village of Castleton. Known for their energetic blend of blues rock, garage rock, and grunge, Drenge's music reflects a raw, visceral sound cultivated from their countryside roots. Their early work, marked by a gritty, rebellious edge, quickly captured attention, leading to high-profile performances and a dedicated fan base. Over time, their lineup expanded to include Rob Graham on bass, further enriching their sonic palette.

How to Sound Like Drenge

Drenge's sound is characterized by its fierce, gritty guitar tones and driving rhythms. Eoin Loveless often employs a blend of fuzz and overdrive effects, achieved through pedals like the Walrus Audio Jupiter Fuzz and Fulltone OCD Overdrive, to craft their signature intense and distorted sound. The use of a Fender Telecaster adds a sharp, cutting edge to their riffs, while the rhythmic backbone provided by Rory's powerful drumming creates a relentless, high-energy feel. This combination of gritty textures and dynamic percussion is essential to capturing the aggressive, yet melodic essence of Drenge's music.
