About

Freeze The Atlantic is an energetic British alt-rock band hailing from Surrey, formed in 2008. The group emerged from the remnants of notable acts Reuben and Hundred Reasons, bringing together talents like Andy Gilmour (guitar) from Hundred Reasons, and Jon Pearce (bass) and Guy Davis (drums) from Reuben. The lineup was further strengthened with Tom Stevens (guitar) and Chris Knott (vocals), culminating in a powerful quintet known for their gritty yet melodic soundscapes. Freeze The Atlantic fuses elements of alternative rock and pop-punk, creating a dynamic sonic profile that resonates with fans of high-energy rock music.

How to Sound Like Freeze The Atlantic

Freeze The Atlantic's sound is characterized by its raw and punchy guitar riffs, often juxtaposed with melodic undertones that give their music a unique edge. The band's guitars typically feature a distorted, crunchy tone, achieved through the use of effects like overdrive and distortion. This is complemented by the tight, driving rhythms laid down by the bass and drums, which provide a solid backbone for their songs. The Ashdown ABM 500 EVO III bass amplifier head, used by Andy Gilmour, contributes to the band's robust low-end presence, ensuring their live performances are as impactful as their studio recordings. The interplay of aggressive yet melodic elements in their music offers a compelling listening experience that captures the essence of modern alt-rock.
